About Michelle Mishenko

Michelle Mishenko, MSW, LCSWA,

Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate

As a clinical social worker, my goal is to empower you and to assist you to identify important values and strengths. I want you to  live authentically through building an open, non-judgmental therapeutic alliance.  You are the expert with regard to personal struggles, and I aim to collaborate with you as you explore your needs, identify goals, and work towards solutions.  I do not believe in "one method fits all" counseling, and therefore, I listen to you with respect to what you want to explore, how you want to accomplish this, and how solution-focused you aim to be.  I passionately believe in the value of human relationships and that providing empathy and a safe place for clients allows them to pursue and experience change.  I also feel it is important to view presenting concerns and struggles through a lens of cultural competency and with consideration to a client's environment.

While I see clients of varied concerns, I am particularly knowledgeable in working with clients/couples who have experienced infertility struggles, pregnancy/birth trauma, postpartum depression and anxiety, and those building families through foster care, adoption and "less traditional" methods.  My past experience as a birth parent counselor means I am aware of the struggles and loss associated with these experiences.  I also enjoy working with clients on anxiety, body image concerns and mindfulness.
